Saints Louis and Zélie Martin built a home where faith formed the core of everyday life in late-19th-century France.
Married in 1858, they dedicated themselves to raising their children within a deeply Catholic household, marked by daily prayer and participation in the sacraments.
Despite losing four of their nine children in infancy, the Martins remained resilient, finding strength in their unwavering belief in God.
Zélie’s lace-making business and Louis’s work as a watchmaker were expressions of their faith, offering lessons in integrity and diligence to their surviving children.
All five daughters entered religious life, with the youngest becoming St. Thérèse of Lisieux.

Today, their example inspires families to infuse daily life with love and holiness, fostering a true “domestic church.”
